What can I say about this place... It is so so beautiful with lovely walks in any direction. I would definitely recommend it.
A really nice campsite for if you want to just get away from the hustle and bustle of busy life!
Stayed here only twice over a few years but both times have been utterly brilliant. Log fires, river and woods to explore and play in (for the big kids as well as the kids!), access to walking routes, no phone reception, no noise from roads and a local butcher in Porlock sells excellent meat. I love this place.
Our second visit and still as stunning and friendly as ever. Riverside pitch and campfire to boot. Word to those driving take care as it's a very narrow road down to sight. Please don't let this put you off, once you arrive kick back, put your phone's and all electrical devices as you can't use them and get the kids back to real life. Tracy and Simon are awesome.
This is a really fantastic campsite, run by very nice people. The site itself is nestled in a wooded valley, right down by the river - which is lovely to splash about in - and the walk down the valley is beautiful. When we were there, there were a lot of family groups and also a Duke of Edinburgh group, but it was never overly noisy and, in any case, we were given a quieter spot near the bottom of the site. Facilities were basic, but clean and there is a small shop open morning and evening. Easy reach of the coast and some fantastic walks up on Exmoor. Will definitely be re-visiting.
